The project included the installation of seventy nine 16-inch diameter pipe piles with an average length of approximately 40 linear feet into dense sands and gravel. A leased ICE hammer and owned Manitowoc 10000 crawler crane were used to install piles. The project was bid to have an average length of 25 linear feet per pile, which increased based on the results of the dynamic testing. This caused a considerable amount of splicing in the field.
