Hayden Tower Pedestrian Overpass
Project Description
McCrossin Foundations installed twenty-four 5.5-inch micropiles for the construction of a new pedestrian bridge for the Hayden Tower at the Markle. Working on the streets of downtown Hazleton, this project had to be fast-tracked due to short-term road closures needed to perform the work.
Drilling at four pile cap locations on the sidewalks along historical buildings, special precautions were taken to protect the façade of the buildings. Subsurface material encountered consisted of historical foundation remnants and presented challenging drilling and installation circumstances. Despite tight workspace challenges, McCrossin Foundations successfully completed the project ahead of schedule.
